The Crow Movie Reboot Will Start Shooting Very Soon

Last month it was rumoured that Aquaman star Jason Momoa will play the lead role in the long-delayed reboot of The Crow. It has now been reported that the movie will begin production early next year.

According to The Wrap, the film will start shooting in January. The site states that "multiple individuals have confirmed" the news, and that Corin Hardy will be directing.

A remake of The Crow has been in development for many years, but a variety of production delays and legal complications has meant slow progress in getting it to the screen. Last month, Momoa posted an image of himself and Hardy on Instagram. Hardy has been attached to the project for some time, and although it was reported that he had left it earlier this year, he has since returned.

The Crow first appeared on the screen in the 1994 movie, which was adapted from James O'Barr's comic book. The film was a critical and financial hit, but it was overshadowed by the accidental death of star Brandon Lee on set. An unsuccessful sequel, The Crow: City of Angels, was released in 1996.

Momoa will portray Aquaman in next year's DC team-up Justice League, before reprising the role in a standalone movie in 2018. He is also known for playing Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, plus the lead character in 2011's remake of Conan the Barbarian.
