The Beatles: Rock Band near-full setlist revealed

September cover story of Game Informer magazine counts off all but one of the 45 on-disc songs for Harmonix's upcoming rhythm game.

MTV Games and Harmonix are primed to release The Beatles: Rock Band for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii on September 9, and the companies have slowly been doling out the game's 45-song set list. With 25 tracks already revealed, GameStop-owned Game Informer magazine today revealed all but one of the final 20 tracks as part of its September issue.

Just one track remains to be revealed...

The new songs revealed as part of the magazine's feature span the Beatles illustrious decade-long run. Particularly noteworthy additions include "A Hard Day's Night" off the 1964 album of the same title; "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds," off the band's 1967 Sgt. Peppers album; "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," from 1967's White Album; and "Come Together," off the Abbey Road record.

Harmonix intends to release additional Beatles tracks as downloadable content. Upon the game's release, Xbox 360 owners will be able to purchase "All You Need Is Love," with proceeds going to the Doctors Without Borders charity. Additionally, the classic albums Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band will be released in their entirety as downloadable content across all platforms.

"Near-full" Heh.. better put some more songs on there. Just seems like it's missing a lot of great songs.

@NarutoFan30: The original acoustic version of "Revolution" (known as "Revolution 1") was on the White Album, but the electric version that is included in the game was released as a separate single after the fact.

To those doubting the sales potential of this game: You just don't get it do you? This is The Beatles! Have you taken a look at how many albums/singles they have sold? Their music is also not available for download in any other (legal) format. This will do quite well. The evolution of the Beatles actually provides a nice template for a game, with their early material being more simple and their later works becoming increasingly complex. The biggest problem with making a Beatles game is well reflected here in the comments. They have so many classic songs that everyone has one or two or 25 that they feel should have made the cut. Happiness Is A Warm Gun is one that would have loved to see in the game (along with the many others mentioned repeatedly by others) but Sgt. Pepper and The White Album are gonna be must owns for me anyway.

Joey JoeJoe Jr if you download the DLC you will get a day in the life.......and im sure after the first three dlc albums are a hit they will put up help to download, giving you Help and Yesterday. Plus as far as I can see this game has no instrumentals so Hey Jude has to be the last song! So everyone who is complaining about only 45 songs don't forget about the 3 albums you can download in their entirety.

Who wants to bet the one song they're not mentioning is Hey Jude? That's just my guess.

I'm so glad "And Your Bird Can Sing" is in it. Probably my favourite Beatles song and it tipped me over the edge of wanting to buy this.

No "A Day in the Life" = NO purchase. How can you not include the Beatles best song, just cause it has a 70 man orchestra.

Oh yeah and the other thing to everyone, they have annouced that the last song is gonna be either 1. Hey Jude 2. Help 3. Yesterday 4. Flying I personally would like Let It Be, but watcha gonna do....

lukas1051 This game is gonna sell better than GH:M because The Beatles are one of the most famous bands out there, i bought GH:M because i love the band, but Metallica probably wouldn't be here without The Beatles, they changed music forever, this game isn't supposed to be challenging its meant to be fun. This is going to sell VERY well

i swear ive seen a video in which "strawberry fields forever" was being shown for a few seconds, so maybe its the other song thats yet to be revealed, or its in DLC, but its definitely gonna be there somewhere (ftw).

I knew they couldn't leave of "Helter Skelter", the heaviest Beatles song there is. A bit mystified why "Help!" isn't there yet, and also why they chose "I Wanna Be Your Man" over "All My Loving". I'm disappointed not to see "It's All Too Much" from Yellow Submarine. Overall, a good selection though.

And yet, I can bet you will get bored after the first song. I mean c'mon, what song would be any attempt at a challenge? It's The Beatles, not the top choice for a music game. Do you know why GH:Metallica did so well? Cause the songs are challenging and fun to play. I can guarantee this game will get good reviews because of it's arty farty style and the fact that sophisticated people cannot dislike The Beatles, but when it comes to sales, this will fail big time.

I really wanted the song Help!

I was excited about this, but only 45 tracks? Lame. Not to mention that they missed a lot of good songs. I can understand not including some great but lesser known songs like "If I Fell", or "For the Benefit of Mr. Kite", nor including songs that heavily use instruments not covered by Rock Band, such as "Love Me Do", "Let It Be" (my favorite Beatles song), and "the Long and Winding Road", but not including standards like "Yellow Submarine", "Help", "Please Please Me" and "Across the Universe" really sucks. Of course, they still have one more track to reveal. . .

It'd be cool if they had the Across the Universe soundtrack as DLC...

They got helter skelter so I'm calm for now, I think real love would be a perfect ending with the beatles now aged, well two of them to honest.

Get_Shorty

The last song to be announced will probably be "She Loves You," one of the Beatles biggest hits aside from the ones already announced and Hey Jude which is mostly a piano song.

Poltergeist86
Poltergeist86

There are some ''key'' songs that are missing, hope they put them up later at least for DLC. Here are some I'd like to see in the game: Oh! Darling, All My Loving, Across the Universe, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, Blackbird, Strawberry Fields Forever, Please Please Me, Michelle, For the Benefit of Mr. Kite, When I'm Sixty-four, Help!, Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, Penny Lane, Lady Madonna, Hey Jude, The Ballad of John & Yoko, Let it Be... phew, there are more but these ones will do :D

Get_Shorty
Get_Shorty

What about "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love?" heh heh heh.

mikemaj82
mikemaj82

Hey Jude? Let it Be? Are you guys even familiar with the Beatles? The piano is played primarily throughout both those songs. It would be a waste to include them in a game with guitars.

with them releasing as albums as DLC, I am skeptical about purchasing this at all. Abbey Road and Sgt. Peppers are the firs albums they are going to release as DLC and they are probably going to charge 10-15 dollars for each album. The lame part is that there are a few songs from each of those albums already on the game and you won't really be getting entire albums via the DLC. I sure hope they do this where you can pay for songs individually because there are more than a few songs that would be entirely unplayable. This really is bumming me out now, whereas before I was really stoked to play this.

@ SnakeEyesX80 Don't worry, they're releasing "A Day in the Life" with the Sgt. Pepper's DLC.
