Thanksgiving-themed Borderlands 2 DLC out now

2K Games and Gearbox release The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler on all systems for $3.

by

2K games and Gearbox Software today released Thanksgiving-themed downloadable content for Borderlands 2 called The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler. The DLC, the second of three Headhunter expansions for Borderlands 2, is available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC for $3.

The content will be available in Europe and Oceania tomorrow, November 27.

In the DLC, players will participate in a hunger-themed competition hosted by Mr. Torgue where they are challenged to hunt down a giant turkey, the Wattle Gobbler, pictured above. Players will also meet Mr. Torgue's grandmother, Grandma Flexington, in the content for the first time. "Grandma Flexington reminds us that we should be nice to Grandma during the holidays, even if she rambles on for way too long," 2K Games said.

Additionally, new character heads and skins will also be available as part of The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler. 2K will release the third Headhunter add-on, How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day, sometime in December. The Halloween-themed TK Baha's Bloody Harvest launched in October.

Borderlands 2, released in September 2012, is the most recent entry in the shooter series. It has shipped over 7.5 million copies to date and is on pace to become 2K's best-selling game of all time.

I hope it has more content than the last one. It was okay, but I think $3 is too much for only two missions.

I think I will wait for a Steam sale and maybe get it for half price.  Still prefer the first Borderlands over the second one.

I get the feeling there is as much DLC as there is loot in Borderlands now. Too much DLC is just plain unattractive.

Do they have weekly DLC? I think there's more DLC content than there is from the original game at this point.

Wow. You know they are milking it when they start making mutant Turkey DLCs!

Guys let me know how this is. The last DLC I got for BL2 was the Raid on Digistruct and to be honest I couldn't even get myself to finish it. Not that it was overly terrible or anything, but after 3 playthroughs with my siren and let's say 90 or 100 hours I found myself wanting a change of pace. BL2 was my personal GOTY for '12 and I still had a blast with it. But with Digi Peak I found all the legendaries I farmed for became obsolete and even though I could go and get leveled up versions of them it was time to retire. May your bee shields always sting true.

@randomkidlol they have a community which are willing to buy and cont playing Borderlands. Juz because you don't play this game it has to go?

@randomkidlol Why? If they are making more content and people are happy buying it, why would you want them to stop? You don't have to buy it.

@Sefrix That makes sense for something like Forza that cut back on content in order to deliver the DLC. It doesn't make sense for BL2. Whether you want it or not, saying that keeping a game going for fans by regularly pumping in new content is "unattractive" doesn't make much sense.

What would be your preference? A new disc release COD style? Just let the game fade out and stop supporting it? This isn't unlocking shite on the disc, it's fan support. Gamers just aren't happy people though.

@Sefrix No kidding about too much DLC being unattractive. I would love to own a complete version of Borderlands 2 with every DLC included, but at this rate who knows if that will ever happen.

Southpark had mutant turkeys in season 1 so there goes your theory out the window ;)
