TOKYO--One of the classic side-scrolling shooting games responsible for the genre's explosive proliferation in the 1980s is making a comeback. According to a press release from Sony Computer Entertainment, Konami is currently developing a new Gradius game for the PlayStation 3. No details about the game have been disclosed yet.
Konami has announced six games for the PlayStation 3 thus far. Aside from Metal Gear Solid 4 and the new Gradius, the company is developing a new installment in its Jikkyou Pro Baseball series, as well as three unnamed games in different genres: a soccer game, a new action game, and a new role-playing game.
Stay tuned to GameSpot for additional PS3 game announcements.
