TGS 2001 Fall: New Final Fantasy XI media

At the ongoing Tokyo Game Show 2001 Fall, SquareSoft showed a trailer video for its upcoming online RPG Final Fantasy XI. For the first time, the video showed off actual gameplay footage from the game. It begins with a slow pan of one of the game's organic environments, which is followed by sequences showing several characters commiserating in an outdoor area--all presumably controlled by individual human players. Final Fantasy XI doesn't have a specific release date at this time, but it is known that the game will be available in 2002.
