Test Drive Unlimited gold

Development complete on Atari's latest racing game for PC and PS2; PC version to be made available to download online.

Two more versions of Test Drive Unlimited have been shipped off today, the PlayStation 2 and PC formats. Both will be shipped to stores on March 20, although the PC format version will be available two weeks earlier for digital download, starting today.

The PlayStation Portable version of the game is also expected to be completed at the end of this month, and the three new formats will join the Xbox 360 version, which was released in September 2006.

Test Drive Unlimited is the latest installment in the Test Drive series and features more than 125 licensed cars and motorcycles racing through the mean streets of Hawaiian island Oahu. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's review of the Xbox 360 edition.

If the PC version is suppose to be $34.99 as this page says then what's the point of buying the $39.99 PS2 version?

To all gamers this Test Drive has nothing to do with the old versions of Test Drive. Believe me it has changed a lot. It's a really cool game the graphic bugs sometimes but generally it isn't bad, and REMEMBER if you have a driving wheel for PC it's really the coolest thing just to drive through the island with a Ferrari and chill ( playing with the keyboard sucks) 1 mile in game counts 1 mile in real time, that is something don't you guys think.

the game is bugged worse then windows on a beta ver! it crushes on XP & Vista. A lot of Graphic problems ,respond time & level loading- over 250Km/h at some point the road is dead & i fall to the ocean. i checked it on 3 PCs, all new and power full- the same!

Atari sent me an E-Mail to download the game early, but the link was outdated.

PC version may be OK with a patch, but at the moment the frame rate will not go higher than 13, even on the lowest video settings on my machine

this game is buggy as hell. even if you have a topend system, there's a chance it will run horribly... it could be a driver problem but maybe not. Many people are having trouble running this game at a decent framerate, and no one's quite sure why :p

Re: Test Drive Unlimited is the latest installment in the Test Drive series and features more than 125 licensed cars and motorcycles..... But it says that only 70 or less cars on PS2 version and no bikes.

I agree that this is a fenomenal game. Not many people tried it because they may think it is similir to past Test Drive games, but it isn't. This is my favorite racing game right now, and I really think that this is the way the Grand Turismos and Forzas should go. Back in the 90s Test Drive was a top brand and was as well recognized and prestigious as Need for Speed, but all the changing of hands of Atari properties have made this franchise less appealing.

TDU was ok on the 360. I understand the need to make it a platformer, due to less than stellar sales on the 360. I'd much rather stick with Forza.

finished this game on 360 still need 10 points by winning 2 challenges at the drive -ins then I am fully complete. The game is worth it if you want yo enjoy racing games and can just roam around not sure if the PS2 online part will be as good as Live. The car handling is slightly poor thou 1 slight mistake and your all over the shop.

This game wasn't fun for the 360. Won't imagine it will be better on any other platform.

From what I've seen from the psp version (screens, videos) I think I'll be buying that one, consitering it looks just as good if not better than the PS2 version. I cant wait a good online game for the PSP finaly coming. MOOR portable!

I'd like it on PS3 too, but I could try it on the PS2 ^_^

I think the main reason for the lack of a PS3 "port" is that TD:U had some pretty abitious online features on the 360. If there is anything you don't want your online to be on the PSN, it's ambitious. Perhaps it will come in the future, when things are a little more streamlined for Sony.

I really like the XBOX 360 one. It should even better on PC!

I loved this game too. Maybe the people complaining about this game wanted something like Gran Turismo, Forza or PGR with an MMO element. I actually love TDU on the Xbox 360.

I'm surprised there isn't a ps3 version. It would seem porting from the 360 to the ps3 would be easier, than the ps2.

TD:Unlimited has a terrible soundtrack, thank god for using custom tracks of your own. Other than that the game is great.

I don't know - TDR was only cool for like 2 weeks on 360. I don't see PS2 or PC users enjoying this for at least 2 weeks.
