Telltale Tweets Game of Thrones Teaser

Studio hints at possible story and setting for its upcoming game series.

Telltale Games has published a cryptic message on Twitter that could offer new insight into its highly anticipated Game of Thrones series.

Little is known about the upcoming episodic series of games based on George RR Martin's award-winning collection of novels, with no confirmed details on which aspect of the sprawling fictional world Telltale will set its story in.

However, on Saturday Telltale Games tweeted a quote from the latest Game of Thrones novel, A Dance with Dragons, which mentions the Forrester family name.

Telltale's excerpt from the book reads: "Trackers and hunters sworn to Deepwood with clan names such as Forrester and Woods, Branch and Bole. Game of Thrones, a Telltale Games series #IronFromIce".

The tweet suggests that Telltale's game will be based on the fifth book, which will likely be covered in the upcoming fifth season of the HBO television series.

House Forrester, which Telltale cites specifically in its excerpt, is a noble house from the wolfswood in the North with allegiances to the Starks.

In July last year, Telltale announced it had secured the rights to develop The Game of Thrones game. The studio has published several episodic series, and is best known for its work on The Walking Dead and Fables franchises.

I like how now everybody just loves Telltale games after they finally landed a hit with TWD. I guess those fans didn't play all the previous 4/10 jewels like the CSI, Law & Order or Jurassic Park tie-ins ?

You wont see wieners due to games censorship, so it wont be game of thrones.

I may be wrong, but I remember reading a codex from DA: O (dragon age origin) that pretty much said this is based, or has similarities to "A song of Ice, and Fire." and playing it you can see the similarities which is awesome! I'm not sure the direction as of DA; I but I believe DA; 2 had some still. I always thought aveline, as brienne of tarth.

"PRODUCT NOT YET RATED" sounded off like "YOUR BODY ISN'T READY".

I know nothing about Game of Thrones, but I'm kind of excited for this just because it's Telltale. I like all their games.

I hear it's basically Lord of the Rings with more floppy wieners and stuff, right?

TellTaleeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... I read the devs name and I can't help but be excited. Apart from CDPR, TT are the only ones who blew my socks off with their excellent games. Love you guys. Please bring it on as soon as possible.

I'm really looking forward to this series.

Both The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead (1&2) were just fantastic.

I would have loved to play Back to the Future too, but sadly it wasn't released for my console.

I wonder if there are any other series that they could develop with this Tell Tale engine of theirs apart from the already announced stuff?

I know I would like to see TT take on Doctor Who or as unlikely as this is Red Dwarf. I think they would do an excellent job handling the lore of both universes.

Although I'm still wondering why they chose Borderlands for their next project?

I see Telltale is teaming up with HBO and therefore is able to use the licensed theme music.

I want more info on the Borderlands game, and maybe some info on whatever they're doing next with TWD.

Will there be more naked people in it than the Witcher?

@warriors30 Really? Game of Thrones is the best show out, and possibly the greatest show ever, with record breaking views. It is way more than lord of the rings, and its soft endings, predictable characters, predictable story, and heroes. This show is amazing real, and has a great script. I'm ashamed I have to tell you this.

@Deadlysyns87 They've wrapped up most of the storylines from book 3, and even a few storylines from book 5.

Much of book 5 is concurrent with book 4.  So season 5 will definitely cover parts of book 5.  And seasons 3 and 4 have already included some book 5 material

@medafaded @warriors30 The fact that you simply refer to it as a show, shows your comment doesn't hold water. GOT is not as amazing as LOTR sure its a good show but it will never be LOTR caliber. LOTR is an amazing Novel series with a huge expansive world.

@medafaded @warriors30 Just because something has record breaking views doesn't make it the greatest thing ever. Look at Call of Duty. Its played by millions of people but is hot garbage. All that said I love Game of Thrones and think its possibly one of the greatest shows ever.

@JohnMafia @warriors30 Good. I don't really like TLOTR. So hopefully I can get into the story... and I always appreciate a good wiener.

@Deadlysyns87 Is that really how you justify if something is a fact or not? It is an HBO show / I don't know. Now does it hold water? The fact that you think a movie that had horrible reviews, especially the third one with a horrible ending is better than GOT, make me think I shouldn't care what you think since your out your mind. Are you serious,? With the birds saving the day, and midgets jumping, and hugging on a bed? That is a horrible way to end a trilogy. GOT is now on its 5th season, and has been the 1# HBO special for over 5 years, with the book series still to be completed. So what does not hold water, is your whole point, and the fact that it will never be the caliber of LOTR because that info is still not yet certain.

I really even doubt you have seen GOT because it is exactly what you said at the bottom. " is an amazing Novel series with a huge expansive world."

@CaveManCobb @medafaded @warriors30 With! record breaking views, is the key word here people. Just adding in a fact, not stating it because of this fact I make it to be the greatest, it just is, OK! That is also after 4 years running I might add. Yes Call of Duty is hot garbage, it is no Game of thrones. Thats why I am no longer one of the millions to purchase this game.
