Telltale Games' Back to the Future launching next week

First episode in series dubbed "It's About Time" hitting December 22 on PC, Mac; free copy of Puzzle Agent bundled with prepurchase.

In early June Telltale Games announced a partnership with NBC Universal for two new episodic adventure series based on the Jurassic Park and Back to the Future franchises. In late October the studio announced that Back to the Future's first installment would be released sometime in December. Now, excited gamers have a definitive date to circle on their calendars for Marty McFly's latest adventure.

The new adventures of Marty and the Doc start next week.

Back to the Future's first episode, dubbed It's About Time, will arrive on the PC and Mac on December 22. The five-part series is available for prepurchase right now via the Telltale Web store for $24.95. Doing so will grant users a free copy of Telltale's Puzzle Agent.

Additionally, those who purchase the title from Telltale will score a free Collector's DVD, which will be published after the series comes to a conclusion. Further, Telltale will donate $1 of every prepurchase to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.

The additional four episodes are expected to arrive on a monthly basis from February through May. For more on the Back to the Future franchise, check out GameSpot's first look at It's About Time.

Ahhh, ok... one episode available every month. But are they all that short?

So I downloaded the demo on the PS3 from the Playstation store, "Episode One"... I finished it in 5 minutes. Curiously, I go to see about purchasing it, ad it says "Episodes 1-5 - $20". Has anyone downloaded this yet? Is that 5 episodes that only last 5 minutes? Are there even 5 episodes available yet? Confuzzled!

Been a while since a Back to the Future game came out. I think the last one was that rubbish Part 3 on the Mega Drive. Does anyone know if Telltale has signed a contract or something with Sony because this isnt coming to the Xbox nor did Sam and Max part 3?

It's nice to see proceeds going towards something useful other than the pockets of greedy execs like Kotick. I'll be looking forward to this :)

speaking of a Jurassic Park game, does anybody remember that Jurassic Park II spinoff called Dino Defenders? Best. Movie. Game. Ever.

Marty: "Uh, plutonium? Wait a minute. Are- "Are you telling me that this sucker is nuclear?" Doc : "No, no, no, no, no. This sucker's electrical. But I need a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity I need." [/i]

The video is all jacked up. It's moving at 4'x the normal speed. What a mess. Hope the game is good. I don't care for the current graphics however. It won't matter to me much if the game is fun.
