Mastiff today announced that its latest PlayStation 2 title Technic Beat has shipped to retail outlets across North America. A music/rhythm title with its origins in Japanese arcades and featuring a song lineup composed of tunes from classic Namco arcade games, Technic Beat is the latest in publisher Mastiff's line of super-budget-priced releases with an SRP of $14.99.

Created by Arika, developers of Mega Man Network Transmission and The Nightmare of Druaga, Technic Beat lets players alter the way the game's tunes are played. Players control one of a handful of different, quirky characters who are dancing on a colorful stage and playing music by activating concentric circles that appear on the floor. But players can also pick up and drop the rings before they are activated, chaining rings together to make combos.

Technic Beat is rated "E" for Everyone. To find out more, read GameSpot's hands-on.
