Take a look at Dark Souls 2's first two community-made shields

The "Wicked Eye Greatshield" and "Rebel's Greatshield" will both feature in Dark Souls II.

by

Bandai Namco and developer From Software have unveiled the first two of the six community-created shields that will be included in Dark Souls II.

From Software originally announced the competition in April last year. The two shields, the "Wicked Eye Greatshield" and "Rebel's Greatshield", are now being shown off on the game's official Facebook page.

The six winning creators--Denis "DasHurz" Bachmaier, Charles Collier, Illim, Gabriel Verdon, and Alexandre Etiennes Jonathan Du Cassé--will all receive their name in the credits, a copy of the Dark Souls II Collector's Edition, and a real-life shield based off their winning designs.

The company will unveil the second and third pairs of shields on January 28 and January 31.

Dark Souls II will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 11. A PC version will follow afterwards.

But will we see versions for Xbox One and PlayStation 4? From Software says it has "not put any thought" into that just yet.

Or you know could just be a cool design with no connotations to any religion or hierarchy?

That could be said, however the eye marked on a hand would be used by pagans to drive evil spirits away. However designed this knew pagan culture well.

dont know why but that hand would look so much better on a round shield

"...and a real-life shield based off their winning designs." Seriously, is it something like Man at Arms production, awesome...it could cost thousands dollars.

Since this is Dark Souls we are talking about, it'd be cool  if Wicked Eye Greatshield absorbed 95% physical damage with an infinite stability, but increased the magic damage you take by 50% or maybe doubled it. You know, because evil eye attracts magic.

only reason I want to play Dark Souls is to dual wield shields

Am I the only one who thinks the original names were better?

The "Wicked eye" is creepy. Liked it, hope it will be strong against magic

@HonorOfGodI guess you could say they have dark souls, so that's perfectly possible.

@everson_rm Huh!? I read an article a fe daysw ago, either here or on Nextgenupdate, that DK2 will only be released on PC so far.

@DuaMnThat would be OP in PvE considering most normal enemies in Dark Souls don't attack with magic, so it would be infinitely useful in almost all encounters. Even in PvP, it would be op against any build that doesn't utilize magic, like strength/dexterity builds (assuming it all works the same as the original Dark Souls).

@Korvus85Guardian shield seems like an odd name considering how the shield actually looks. I don't mind the Raven Goddess one.

@Tacanacy You mean other than PS3 and 360, right? The confirmed platforms are PC, PS3, and 360. No PS4 or XBone.
