TOKYO--Banpresto announced that its Super Robot Taisen series has sold 10 million cumulative copies since it was launched 1991 on the original Game Boy. The achievement was marked by the latest title, Super Robot Taisen MX for the PlayStation 2, which shipped half a million copies at its launch on May 27. The Super Robot Taisen series is known for its integration of mechs from different anime titles. While Banpresto is a subsidiary of Bandai, the Super Robot Taisen series includes characters and mechs from other companies, such as Neon Genesis Evangelion from Gainax.
