Nintendo's Mario auto-runner, Super Mario Run, will launch on Android in March. Nintendo announced the launch month today in a tweet.

A specific date was not mentioned, but people on Android can pre-register to find out exactly when it launches. GameSpot will also bring you the date when Nintendo announces it.

Super Mario Run launched for iOS devices on December 15, 2016 and racked up 40 million downloads in its first four days and 50 million in just over a week. The game is free to download, but only a limited selection of levels are playable until you purchase it for $10.

Nintendo has not released information on how many players have spent money on Super Mario Run. According to a third-party report, the game has brought in $30 million, though Nintendo has not confirmed this.

Despite launching in the middle of December, Super Mario Run was among the top 10 apps worldwide on the iTunes App Store for 2016; Pokemon Go was No. 1.
