Summer Game Fest Teases News About Consoles Announcements And More
Some sort of PS5 and Xbox Series X news might be brewing at the Summer Game Fest.
Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest showcase is now teasing some sort of "console announcements" that will take place sometime in the near future.
In partnering with Twitch, the Summer Game Fest posted a lengthy blog about some of the news viewers can expect throughout the summer. SGF simply said that some console announcements are coming but is keeping whatever this information is close to its chest for the time being.
The Summer Game Fest is slated to run from May to August, with several livestreams happening over the course of the next four months. A look at the schedule shows that none of the announced streams have anything to do with the next-generation systems, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Whatever form these console announcements take will be streamed on Summer Game Fest's new Twitch channel.
In addition to some console announcements, SGF will also provide reveals for upcoming 2K games, an exclusive showcase of indie titles from the IGDA (International Game Developers Association), a competitive Valorant livestream featuring streamers from around the world, and more.
GameSpot will be hosting its own summer showcase called Play For All, which starts on June 1. Join us for a a celebration of all things gaming while we bring you the summer's hottest news, previews, interviews, features, and videos, as well as raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts with the help of our friends from around the gaming world.
