Midway today announced that the official Web site for The Suffering: Ties That Bind is now live. The portal should help appease fans of the original until the game is released September 26.

Visitors to the site can check out various tidbits about Ties That Bind, including news and details on the game. A listing of the game's characters gives some background into the game's story, while the creature descriptions give gamers a peek at the twisted horrors they will be battling in the macabre first-person shooter. There will also be a fair assortment of weapons, including a 12-gauge shotgun, an M60, and the always useful rocket launcher. The Web site shows that the game's lead character, Torque, will run through Baltimore's prisons, loading docks, and other evil hot spots. Gamers can also watch the shooter in action by checking out some streaming videos or perusing several screenshots.

The Suffering: Ties That Bind is the sequel to The Suffering, released last year in March. Ties That Bind continues where the story left off, and it lets Torque choose the path of good or evil.

Seattle-based Surreal Software is developing the game for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. For more information on The Suffering: Ties That Bind, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
