Strike Fighters: Project 1 goes gold

Strategy First announces that development on its 1960s combat flight simulator is finished.

Strategy First and developer Third Wire have today announced that Strike Fighters: Project 1 has gone gold and will ship to stores on October 29. The game is set in the 1960s, a time when aviation technology was still relatively primitive but when US-built planes like the F-4 Phantom II and F-104G Starfighter were really coming into their own.

Strike Fighters: Project 1 is unusual in that a press preview alpha version of the game already shipped through Wal-Mart some time ago. That version was far from complete though, and despite having received a patch in the meantime, it doesn't compare favorably to the version that will be arriving in stores nationwide at the end of the month.
