In a statement posted on Capcom-Unity Neidel Crisan, the studio's director of digital media and esports, said "matchmaking for ranked and casual battles is continuously being improved for most users," but noted that players in Europe and the Middle East are still encountering problems.

"Throughout the weekend and after the [last] server reset, most players should be matched up with opponents at a quicker rate than before," he said.

"We understand players in Europe, the Middle East and some other territories are still running into issues with slow matchmaking. The server team is aware of this and will be continuing to look for ways to improve this issue."

He continued: "Our goal is to provide the best online experience for all users, and if you are not in a region that has a large number of users with stable connections it will take longer to find a suitable opponent. Again, we will continue to look at this issue and find ways to circumvent longer than intended wait times for matchmaking."

Battle Lounges, meanwhile, should no longer disconnect people, but Crisan said Capcom is working on making it easier and more reliable to join one.

"Improvements to Battle Lounges have been made in that users should not get disconnected once they are in a lounge. That said, the ability to search and join Battle Lounges still needs improvement as it is not functioning as intended," he explained. "We’ll be looking at this over the coming weeks and hope to fix the issue soon."

Street Fighter V received a score of 7 in our review, which commended its excellent fight system but lamented its lack of training options and insubstantial story mode.
