Strategy First has announced that it will publish Diggles, the humorous 3D strategy game from German game studio Innonics, early next year. The game was released earlier this year in Europe as Wiggles and has sold more than 100,000 copies in Germany alone.

Diggles lets players control a clan of dwarflike characters who must travel into an underground world on a dangerous mission that will involve several generations of dwarfs. In the course of the journey, players will pass through four different worlds and complete more than 100 different quests.

In order to complete the mission, players must teach their characters new survival techniques, such as how to forge new weapons, how to cook, and how to gather resources. Players must also plan the daily schedule, which determines what work their dwarves do, as well as what they do in their leisure time.

Diggles is scheduled for release in early 2002. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
