Electronic Arts has updated its popular mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, with new sci-fi-themed content that features the famous physicist Stephen Hawking.

"Professor Stephen Hawking is coming to The Simpsons: Tapped Out to take part in the town's greatest scientific discovery since Blinky the three-eyed fish! Will you be able to save Springfield from science?" reads a line from the update's description.

It goes on: "Join Professor Hawking as you explore the secrets of black holes, stop an army of robots, and listen to his lecture on string theory… probably shouldn't have ended on that one..."

The update also includes "dimensionally different duplicates" and futuristic architecture, among other things.

Hawking himself is no stranger to The Simpsons TV show. He guest-starred as himself on the 1999 episode, "They Saved Lisa's Brain."

Originally released in 2012, The Simpsons: Tapped Out is a city-management game where you help Homer and other Springfield residents rebuild the city after a catastrophe. It's been a big success for EA, having brought in more than $100 million in revenue from its microtransactions.

This new Stephen Hawking update is not the fist one the game has received. There have been many over the years, including a Wild West-themed update that came out in April.

You can download The Simpsons: Tapped Out now using these links: iTunes, Google Play.
