Steam Summer Sale 2014 and Summer Adventure Starts Now

Open your wallets.

The annual Steam Summer Sale has begun with ongoing sales for the rest of the month from June 19 to June 30.

Much like Steam's winter festivities, you can also take part in the Summer Adventure. "Offered for free, the Summer Adventure offers the chance to earn in-game items, community rewards, and even free games by collecting Summer Adventure Trading Cards."

You'll want to check back frequently, since the best deals come in the Flash Sales and Daily Deals, but the event is kicking off with the deep discounts of 75-80% off big titles like The Witcher 2 (currently $4), Far Cry 3 ($7.50), and XCOM Enemy Unknown ($7.50).

Any deals you're leaping on now, or any games you've been waiting all summer for this sale to pick up? Let us know in the comments below!

Every sale time I re-realize that steam doesn't have that many games.  Gog is having a good sale too.

@charlesswann  yep and I'm so looking forward to their client...Galaxy (or something like that) - in gog I think I got about 200 games there.

It's worth to mention, that Amazon has its Pricematch sales right now. Pretty good deals if you ask me.

Lol this is what PC players are always bragging about? Buying games on sale that are years old or no one has heard of, only to wind up not playing most of them anyway? Sounds like a big waste of money. Some of you are bragging about buying 100s of games from these sales and never playing them lol. Derp

@GONtheSKYLORD That is very true. Though for the rest of us who aren't fools who buy stuff we won't use it is the perfect time to pick up the odd titles we've had our eyes on for a while for cheap.

I just got the Bioshock Infinite DLCs for £10. No one can complain about that.

@GONtheSKYLORD I don't buy every single AAA title on launch day so it's awesome I can buy games like witcher 2 and far cry 3 for dirt cheap in these sales.

@GONtheSKYLORD I know, it's very hard to confess, that it is you, who were mistaken about a great many things.

Their pre-sales are what I find the most remarkable. Dead rising 3 is not even a year old and it's already on sale for less than 40 dollars, before the pc release!

@pseudopsiakite @GONtheSKYLORD  I'm the same way. I see no reason to pay $60 for a game I will only play thru once. I have an ongoing list of games that I will buy at some point. Had looked at Witcher 2 for like a couple of years, but knew very little about it until recently. Then got it for $5. about a month a go. Excellent game BTW. FC is on that list. Debating if I should continue to wait on that. Can probably get that later this year. no need to get it now, I'm playing thru 5 titles now.

@GONtheSKYLORD I play both console and PC... yes this is what we "brag" about. Beeing able to pick up good games at good prices... It's kind of irrelevant how old the game is of if you ever heard about it before, none of those have any weight on defining if a game is good or not.

For example, anyone who likes RPGs shouldn't pass the opportunity to get the 1st Witcher for 1.39€.

@Azghouls wow......I have only 3 free to play right now

Azghouls
Azghouls

@spartanx169x @Azghouls  I'm regarded as the world's slowest player - giving you an example: Just finished of Kingdoms of Amalur and it took me 262 hrs (includes DLC) - Fallout 3 + all the DLCs 286 hrs. Dead Island 112 hrs. AC2 81hrs. Short games that should take 15 mins like Thirty Flights of Loving took me 1.7hrs.

Take a look at this:

Is it me, or last year's SSS was way better?

Got FC3 (probably cheaper) and W2, DR3 for 40eur -- gotta be kidding

kerc_chaos
kerc_chaos

@mr_nee FC3 was $20 last year. And $9 during the winter sale (Which is when I grabbed it)

Besides day 1 doesn't usually have the best sales.

mr_nee
mr_nee

@kerc_chaos there are key shops that sell steam/Ubi/Origin keys. sometimes they have a deals that put steam to shame

MAD_AI
MAD_AI

@mr_nee @kerc_chaos

Those key shops aren't supported retailers and might get you in trouble if you keep activating regional locked/stolen keys. I know people who paid money at site like G2A without getting their keys at all. It's a risk I'm not willing to take.

According to Steam Calculator my Steam account is worth $750. OK this is getting way out of hand. I think I will skip this Steam sale. I could have bought so many other USEFUL things with that kind of cash... makes me sad :(

@SaQu1B  Mines $3464 and I only spent around $250 on steam games.

Too bad for me, I'm broke right now, and that Far cry 3,  $7.50 is looking pretty good right now.
