Steam Autumn Sale 2013 starts now

Ready to get lots of games for relatively little money?

by

If you're a PC (or Mac) gamer and you're ready to get a jump on your holiday shopping, the Steam Autumn Sale starts today.

Running through December 3, there are the usual slate of deals:

  • General sales in place until the end of the promotion
  • Daily Deals that last for 1-2 days
  • Flash Sales that change every 8 hours

Pro-tip: if you want to make sure you're alerted as soon as a game you're waiting for goes on sale, just add it to your wishlist to get an emailed reminder.

Also, while some of the ongoing sales might be tempting, we'd recommend holding off on any purchases until the game comes up on one of the Daily Deals or Flash Sales to ensure you get the biggest discount. A few of the current notable sales:

  • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for $7.49 (75% off)
  • Sleeping Dogs for $4.99 (80% off)
  • The Walking Dead for $6.24 (74% off)

What are you waiting to pick up? Let us know in the comments!

There is a game called Total War: Rome 2,   its on sale 50% off.   Wait for it to go on sale for 75%  in a couple of months instead.

Buy a better game like chess or any other game on sale in steam instead.

After about 7 patches,  i get the feeling CAssembly is still making the game while we are the alpha testers ...with marginal input at best .

I am kind of surprised how strong Skyrim is still selling.  Also most of the Indie games are also extremely cheap like Secret World and Darkfall are both under $15 now!

Can't wait to get a Steambox!

Good sales but hoping for more off on rome 2, ac4 ,ghosts and arkham origins. maybe 50%? origin has solid prices also dead space 3 for 3.5 euro. bad Company 2 for 0.75 euro crysis 3 for 8 euro etc. Origin prices usually suck.

GreenManGaming and Origin are both having quite nice sales too. Just bought Trine 1 + 2 for £3.59. If you haven't got that yet you're a complete fool.

The pain comes from deciding whether to apply GMG's 20% voucher on Bioshock infinite's Season Pass in addition to 75% off the base game or wait to see what Steam does. I hate (love) you video games.

Final Fantasy 7 on sale for $4. Seriously, that's a steal. If you don't have it on the PC then get it. Hydrophobia is a dollar and that's fun to waste a few hours on.

Got Kerbal Space Program last night. Freakin' awesome game.

With a bunch of games you already own. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I made out with nothing so far - a friend bought me Terraria, I bought her Evoland, and myself Outlast which I had already pirated but you know. The only game I don't have on here that I care to get is like....prison simulator.

GameStop and GameFly are increasingly having better sales than Steam, on their PC download sections.

Sadly I have most of the games already brought from previous sales.  PC game makers need to get a move on.  There hasn't been much released for the PC of late.

Sega made a discount on their games, as did 2K on their already cheap NBA 2K14. Can you guess which three publishers still have their games at $60? That's right, Ubisoft, Activision and Konami. Apart from that, I want to get Terraria and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.

The Skyrim DLC's add up to more than the Legendary Edition. Makes no sense.

Remember remember the rules of steam sale!!

Should you buy the game?

-Is it on daily sale or flash sale? - Yes (buy it) ; no (Wait)

-Whenever it comes on a daily deal or flash, buy it, it's as low as it gets.

-Last day, the game didn't go to any flash or daily? buy it, now it's the time.

Bonus tip: check with russians or brazilian friends, they might have even cheaper copies. bought my walking dead at an extra 20% off.

BTW, I like how the bottom of the page says "Spring Sale 2013" but upside down...

Gotta love Steam Dev's

*If you don't get it...you should uninstall Steam*

I'll avoid this, most of these games will be even cheaper a couple of weeks from now when the Christmas Sale arrives.

I already have tons of games waiting to be played from the summer sale. I can't resist good deals :(

Gotta love valve though, this puts $60 for knack or ryse into perspective when I could buy 15 games on steam now for the same price.

@The-Neon-Seal It's fantastic, I got on it a few months.

Genuinely, when I successfully took my two Kerbals on the first Mun-walk it was one of the greatest senses of achievement I have ever felt while playing a video game.

On the way back I almost undershot the return due to lack of fuel (trying to re-dock the "lander" with my "command module" was a bit of a mess), barely made it back to Kerbin orbit and had to go round a few times to degrade the orbit so I could re-enter.

But re-enter I did, safely, with all 3 crew members in tow.

Felt so good, honestly, I can't remember a game giving me such a moment in a very long time.

@crognalsen Green lit and other indies are where it's at on PC at the mo. Check out Space Engineers or Kerbal Space Program... or both!

@crognalsen "There hasn't been much released for the PC of late.", not only PC, but also previous gen consoles, because of transition to new gen. Should go faster next year. Some cool titles coming out

@hrst1 I looked up Remember Me and it's still £29.99 on Steam and GreenManGaming.

Grenadeh

@spikepigeo There's no reason to ever buy Skyrim. If you want Skyrim, buy the Elder Scrolls Anthology. All 5 games, all expansions/DLC, for 80 dollars. The Skyrim content alone makes it a bargain. Shit actually its 39.99 right now at GameStop.

@GamerLegend10 @pongley True, I bought Super Hexagon at the same time and used some pennies from my Steam wallet. Just shows how low these prices are, you don't even notice when you're buying other games.

pongley
pongley

@Saidrex @pongley They do, at least the 4Play one does. I'm pretty sure they always have although I they may not if you have a non-sale item I'm not sure. You can also use the 4Play voucher as many times as you want. I bought Infinite in the end (£19.04) and I can buy Dishonored for £12 instead of £14.99.

jessie82
jessie82

@Gosha14 @jessie82 i waited till i could get fallout 3 goty and fallout new vegas ultimate for 4.99 each and will do the same for skyrim legendary.. like i said im willing to wait

@Vojtass Yeah, but it's still a great deal. It deserves to stay at full price all the time.

@max-hit I agree. I wish more people buy CDPR's games at full price.
