Acting as the first major LAN tournament of the year in April, Starladder returns bigger than ever and with an entire new region in South East Asia represented. Season IX, which team DK managed to win without dropping a single game in the tournament's playoff stage at Cyberarena Kiev, launched the tournament into a fully global venture as the Ukranian organisation hosted qualifiers for North America, China and South Korea, and for Season X and XI the South Korean qualifier has been replaced with a qualifer for the entire SEA region.

The breakdown between how many teams from each region that will be able to attend the LAN finals in Ukraine remains the same, and consists of 4 European/CIS teams, two Chinese teams and one team apiece from SEA and the Americas.

Season X is due to start in August, and will be concluding on October 26th, arguably making it the first major LAN tournament following TI4. Season XI will be starting in November and finishes in January 2015.
