Stardew Valley launched at the end of February, and not even two months later, it's sold more than a million copies. Chucklefish Games told Polygon in an email that the farming and life simulator has sold 1,007,000 copies since its release.

The farming game is one of the biggest releases for Steam this year, currently sitting behind H1Z1: King of the Kill, Ark: Survival Of The Fittest, and Sven Co-op on SteamSpy--and the latter two are free-to-play games.

"It's been really exciting for us to help bring this game to people's attention, and the success really couldn't have come to a more deserving person," Chucklefish said.

Stardew Valley released on Steam on February 26 and sold more than 400,000 copies in its first two weeks. Developer Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe) has said that he plans to add cooperative play to the game.

Since the game's launch, players have modded the game to feature Pokemon instead of the usual farm animals. The game has also been patched to improve friendship and marriage, and Barone says there are still some undiscovered secrets
