Star Wars: Tiny Death Star is available now for free

The first LucasArts game since the company was acquired by Disney, Tiny Death Star brings together Star Wars and Tiny Tower.

by

Disney-owned LucasArts announced the launch today of Star Wars: Tiny Death Star. A collaboration between LucasArts and Tiny Tower developer NimbleBit, the game uses the familiar 8-bit aesthetic and simple resource management gameplay of NimbleBit's previous titles.

But in this version, you're not the good guy. You're building a Death Star. According to a press release for the launch, "Fans will need to craft special supplies to aid the Empire in its battle against the Rebel Alliance. Players will also need to be extra vigilant to find and capture Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and other Rebel spies before they can escape."

This is the first title from LucasArts since they were acquired by Disney earlier this year and shifted to a licensing model.

Tiny Death Star is available now on the iTunes App Store , Google Play, Windows Phone Store and Windows Store. The game will be "coming soon" to the Amazon App Store.

I was trying to download this game on my Galaxy S2 but I can't find this game anywhere on the Google Play Store. I'd be surprised if that means my phone isn't supported. I'll try again in a couple of days.

Meanwhile I'll stick to "Ittle Dew", my favorite mobile game at the moment. If you're a fan of the old Zelda games (who isn't?) you should give it a try.

Gratz ....

This is what Disney will further do with the Star Wars license.  :(

Been playing this all day in between work and errands. It's a fun little game though I think after a while the repetition will diminish the game's appeal. It's also dangerously close to being the kind of freemium title that makes you pay for things that you shouldn't have to pay for to enjoy the game.

Very nice! Looks like a good pixalated fun.
NimbleBit did a great job! Congrats to them!

Just wish LA could finish 1313... well, that's another story.

@warriors30 It happens to me sometimes. Even thought the device isn't supported, it should be visible. Sometimes it's the other way around and it's pretty annoying when the app shows as compatible, but is tells me that it's not supported and closes when you open it (Ubisoft!!!). Try searching it from your PC.

@pa_amb_tomaquet Yeah, wtf? I used to play Tiny Tower all the time on my iPod. Why would they require a digital compass for this crap? You'd think they'd want to get it out to as many people as possible.
