As reported by Entertainment Weekly, New York-based Ample Hills Creamery have produced two new flavours of ice cream. The Dark Side is made of ultra-dark chocolate ice cream with espresso fudge brownies, cocoa crispies, and white chocolate pearls, while The Light Side consists of bright marshmallow ice cream, with homemade crispie clusters, and a smattering of handmade cocoa crispies.

Brian Smith, the co-owner of Ample Hills Creamery, said in a statement: "As a sci-fi writer in my past professional life, and a longtime Star Wars fan, this is a dream collaboration. And to be able to work with Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products to create new ice cream flavors that represent the two sides of the Force... that might just be the coolest thing we've ever done."

The ice cream can be ordered at the Ample Hills website here, and comes as part of a four-pack set, costing $36.

Last month, Nestlé added five Stars Wars coffee creamers to its Coffee Mate range. Although these are existing flavours, they are now available in bottles based on five iconic characters from the series, including R2-D2 (French Vanilla), Darth Vadar (Espresso Chocolate), and Chewbacca (Spiced Latte). Earlier in the year, Star Wars apples were spotted on shelves.
