Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds update

LucasArts gives a development update on its upcoming Star Wars real-time strategy game. New screens inside.

LucasArts updated the official Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds site with new screenshots and a new designer diary entry from the game's lead artist, Chris Williams. Williams says that Galactic Battlegrounds has just hit the alpha stage of development and that the development team has finished incorporating the design of every structure and unit into the game. He also adds that the art team is going to work on the hero characters--such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, C3PO, and Boss Nass--as well as some other famous Star Wars creatures like the Rancor. The entire team is continuing to work on touching up the details within the game's environments and balancing the units in both multiplayer and single-player modes.

Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds is scheduled for release later this year. For more information on the game, take a look at our previous coverage .
