Star Wars Battlefront's upcoming downloadable content updates will introduce a new map set on Tatooine and new outfits for Luke and Leia, according to a video posted by EA Brasil.

According to a translation of the video by WCCFTech, the content will be free and is not considered to be part of the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass, which means it will be available to everyone.

EA's other regions have not yet officially announced the new map or costumes.

The publisher has previously confirmed at least four expansion packs are coming to Battlefront, the first of which will debut in 2016. These will deliver the following content:

  • Over 20 new items, including weapons, vehicles, and Star Cards for both Rebels and Imperials.
  • 4 additional Heroes and Villains.
  • 16 new multiplayer maps featuring "new locations."
  • 4 new game modes.

These expansions will included in the Battlefront DLC pass, which costs $50 and grants two-week early access to the content. Unfortunately, developer DICE doesn't have any plans to include any content based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens in future Battlefront add-ons.

In November 2015, Star Wars Battlefront became the "largest digital launch" in EA's history and the "biggest launch" of any new Star Wars game ever released. EA Studios executive Patrick Soderlund said at the time that players can look forward to "lots of new content" in the coming months.

The first of Battlefront's post-launch DLC was the free Force Awakens-inspired expansion called The Battle of Jakku. Soderlund teased that more free content would follow.

"We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have coming with Season Pass," he said. "We'll have more to share soon."

In related news, Star Wars: Episode VIII has been delayed. It was previously scheduled to arrive May 26, 2017 but has been shifted by six months to a new premiere date of December 15, 2017.
