Called Base Command, the turn-based game sees players protecting their bases from oncoming Imperial enemies.

The game is playable as a standalone title in the app or on this website. For players who pick up a copy of Battlefront, however, they'll be able to earn credits in Base Command and spend them in Battlefront.

As stated earlier, Battlefront's companion app tracks players' stats and progression, while it also displays all the Star Cards, Blasters, and Credits that you've unlocked. The app can also be used to create a specific loadout that will then be available in the full game the next time you boot it up.

Whats more, the Battlefront app syncs up with PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Origin accounts, so you can receive notifications when friends start playing. You can also track friends' progress on leaderboards. Finally, the app gives you the option to get in-app and push notifications for things like Battlefront news or when friends start playing, among other things.

The Battlefront app is available now on iTunes and Google Play. For a closer look at Base Command and the rest of the app's features, click through the images in the gallery above.

Battlefront officially launches on November 17 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, Xbox One owners with an EA Access membership can start playing Thursday, November 12. In other recent news, EA has released a new live-action trailer for the game featuring Twilight and Pitch Perfect actress Anna Kendrick.
