Star Ocean: Blue Sphere for the GBC

GameSpot News has learned that Enix will be releasing Star Ocean: Blue Sphere for the Game Boy Color. The game takes place two years after Star Ocean: Second Story, and all main characters from the original game will be returning. Only three of 12 main characters can form a party, but they can be swapped anytime during gameplay.

There will be fewer stores where players can purchase items in the game, so they will focus more on what is called item creation. Item creation will let players acquire weapons, armors, and items they want by combining various items. These can be implemented also when playing against friends via the link cable. The battle system will be in half-real- time format.

Star Ocean: Blue Sphere is expected for a release this summer in Japan. The game will also be shown during the Tokyo Game Show 2000 this spring.
