What we heard: Capcom's presence at Japan's annual Amusement Machine Operators' Union show--a dealer-oriented event focusing on upcoming arcade games--has been growing rapidly in recent years, spurred by the renewed interest in fighting games and the publisher's July 2008 release of Street Fighter IV in Japanese arcades.
This year's show--from September 9 to 11--is set to be just as big for Capcom. While the publisher announced an arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV for Japan earlier this year, details on the new character roster have been few to date.
According to a translation from Japanese news site Andria Sang, SSFIV assistant producer Tomoaki Ayano hinted that more details on the arcade version's new characters could come by the end of the week on the game's official blog. Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu is also slated to run a semi-reveal in next week's issue, although Ayano said he'd update the game's blog with more hints.
The official story: Capcom to date has not stated whether SSFIV will be at Amusement Machine Operators' Union show next month.
Bogus or not bogus?: Looking not bogus that new characters will be added to the arcade version; however, whether or not more details on who they are will actually be revealed by next week remains to be seen.
