Square Enix teases Tomb Raider news for December
Publisher suggests news about action franchise could come during VGX next month.
The future of the Tomb Raider franchise may be revealed next month, Square Enix has suggested. After a Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was spotted for PlayStation 4 this week on Amazon, a representative for the company told DualShockers that an official announcement of some kind may be made in December.
"It’s so hard to keep a secret these days! We appreciate all of the enthusiasm, however we don’t have any details to share just yet," Square Enix said about the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. "That said, we highly recommend you keep an eye on any major gaming events happening in early December."
"Early December" matches up with the 2013 Spike VGX, the name of the event formerly known as the Spike VGAs. The event is scheduled for December 7 and will be broadcast on TV and streamed online.
According to the Amazon product description, the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be released on PS4 and another unspecified platform in January 2014 with all of the original game's DLC. In addition, a Tomb Raider sequel is currently in development for next-generation consoles.
