Square Discusses Final Fantasy XI
You knew it was going to be massively multiplayer, but how massive will Square's FF-XI be?
Reports in the Japanese press indicate that Square's massively multiplayer PlayStation 2 role-playing game Final Fantasy XI will support up to 3,000 players simultaneously on each of its PlayOnline servers. Additionally, the company is seeking telecommunications partners to develop Final Fantasy-related software for cell phones and other wireless devices. These mini-games could have linking functionality with Final Fantasy XI for the PS2. No further details are available at this time.
