TOKYO - Koei has announced Crimson Sea for the Xbox, a network compatible title, which will be a mix of sci-fi and Eastern fantasy. "The story takes place in the Crimson Sea located somewhere outside of our universe," according to Kiyoshi Komatsu, senior managing director and general manager of Koei's software division. Using the technology implemented in Kessen, the company's PlayStation 2 title, Koei plans to display over 1000 characters on screen at once. Crimson Sea will be produced by Kou Shibusawa, producer of Koei titles such as Kessen and Romance of Three Kingdoms. The game may also be tied in with a possible motion picture release. The game is scheduled for a 2002 release.
