Splinter Cell hero Sam Fisher is one objective closer to completing his mission of landing on the Nintendo DS. Ubisoft today announced that Splinter Cell Chaos Theory has shipped to North American retailers and will be available next Tuesday, June 28. The game was previously released on the Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, PC, N-Gage, and mobile platforms.

The DS version will incorporate the handheld's unique features as well as some brand-new content. Using the touch screen, gamers will be able to choose between several vision modes, maneuver the camera, and sift through their inventory. The integrated Wi-Fi capabilities will support the game's popular multiplayer modes, allowing gamers to compete against each other or play cooperatively without wires. Fisher's acrobatic spy moves also get the DS-exclusive SWAT turn.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for the DS is rated T for Teen and will retail for $39.99. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
