Spike to release Conception RPG

PSP title to feature "baby-making" party creation system via 12 star maidens.

Very few role-playing games focus on the protagonist's struggle to conceive offspring in order to continue with the game's narrative. At least until now.

According to a recent Famitsu report, video game developer Spike recently announced an RPG called Conception: Ore no Kodomo o Unde kure! (translated to "Please Have My Baby!").

Players will need to conceive offspring to save the world from impending doom.

In this upcoming PSP game, players will assume the role of an unmotivated student called Itsuki, who is given the task of conceiving a child with up to 12 star maidens so that his offspring can save the miasma-enshrouded world of Granvania. The children that Itsuki procreates--via him and a female partner pouring their spirit into a "baby-making" device--are called star children, whose job class is determined by his choice of partners.

The star children's classes include mage, warrior, and monk, among others that are yet to be announced. Players will also need to make an effort to strengthen Itsuki's relationship with one or more of the 12 maidens to boost the stats of the aforementioned children through dialogue choices. While the battle system has yet to be fully revealed, gamers will have up to 13 party members to control.

The game's release date in Japan has not yet been announced.

lol! What the heck?! The title itself is enough to throw players off. Sure it might be different enough to be interesting. Heck, maybe the gameplay could be genius, but titles and promotional stuff can sometimes act as an anti-advertisement. The content itself could be pretty tame, silly even, but there have been times when some Japanese promotional material and titles like this one does more to have Americans avoid it than to give it a chance. Sad because the developers worked so hard an fully enjoyable game only to have a bad marketing choice limit your audience to an japanese dating sim fans when it could be much more than that.

These are the games the gaming world needs. Maybe it's a little bit crazy but unique that's for sure. My answer to the big question: BF3 or MW3? Guess what it's Conception: Please have my baby! :D

I hope there is some sort of battle system, otherwise it sounds like little more than a visual novel. I'm sure the "baby-making" is only a part of the whole, since the game doesn't even have a release date yet. The game needs a better subtitle though, because "Please Have My Baby!" sounds desperate...not to mention being a rather poor pick-up line.

I saw the title of this Article yesterday and my mind thought about having babies but seeing as it was a game, I figured I read it wrong and just skipped over it. Today, bored at work decided to read it and sure enough, I was not mistaken. I really dont know how to feel about that.

@Legolas_Katarn lemme attack this from both angles, just in-case. There's a reason he said very few instead of none cuz that's just three out of the tons of RPGs out there, or maybe you're just trying to support his statement, if so, kudos.

"Very few role-playing games focus on the protagonist's struggle to conceive offspring in order to continue with the game's narrative. At least until now." Record of Agarest War, Record of Agarest War Zero, Fire Emblem 4.

WTF?!?! Do we really need a game that marginalizes the responsibility of sex and the role of parenting?

Surely this game could not be limited to a console. No, it requires portability for awkward subway rides.

I would rather Spike JP work on the next-gen FireProWrestling-HD then another of many boring "eroge/bishōjo game" shovel-ware.

When I first saw the link to this from GameFAQs, I thought it was a game by Spike TV where you play as some guy who has sex with multiple women, with the excuse that you need kids to save the world. It sounds like something they would do.

There'll probably be a mini-game where you check each woman to see if she has child-bearing hips.

So basically the player have to choose one of 12 chicks to make babies with and save the world... At least it's original.

I wonder how a game like this will "work"... Making babies = sex 12 maidens = polygamy And so on...

I'm not going to judge, because in all honesty, I'd probably play this.
