JoWood Entertainment sent GameSpot an exclusive group of new screenshots from Spellforce: The Order of Dawn, its recently unveiled 3D real-time strategy game. The new screens show off a variety of creatures and environments that will appear in the game, along with a number of colorful spell effects.
Spellforce was first presented last month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. The game combines a number of role-playing elements with traditional real-time strategy elements. Players will assume the role of a single character who will gain experience and levels through the course of the game's quests, and they will also build an army and engage in tactical battles. The game is built on the 3D engine used in Fishtank's underwater action game AquaNox.
Spellforce: The Order of Dawn is in development at German game studio Phenomic, and it is scheduled for release near the end of the year. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
