Sorry, the New Ninja Gaiden Project Isn't a Game

False alarm!

On June 28, Ninja Gaiden composer Keiji Yamagishi sparked speculation that a new game could be in development when he tweeted he was "working on a new project related to Ninja Gaiden."

In a follow-up tweet, Yamagishi has clarified that the project in question is not a video game.

There were no further details on what this new project is, but more information will be provided in July.

Developer Team Ninja, which made the most recent game, 2014's Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, is now working on the PlayStation 4 action game Nioh, which looks to be inspired by Dark Souls and Onimusha.

Nioh releases exclusively for the PS4 later this year. GameSpot put together a video where we compared the Nioh alpha demo to this year's Dark Souls III. You can find out if Nioh is more hardcore than Dark Souls here.
