Sony to begin work on The Getaway movie

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures is currently working to secure the film rights to The Getaway. One of the studios' alternative labels, Screen Gems, will be responsible for putting the film into production early next year to make sure that its release coincides with the release of the next game in the series, which is expected to appear sometime next year. Screen Gems was also responsible for the film adaptation of Resident Evil.
