Ehh, if its anything like the "gamer" centric programming they tried with the PS3 it's not that incredibly exciting.

I wonder how much of this content won't be available outside the U.S.

Sony straight out bashed MS. Sony supports used games. They clearly know what a gaming console is all about. After all they've been in the console market longer than MS. MS made gamer's take a step back and are trying to draw in a new crowd of entertainment seekers. And of course all the Xbox fan boys are obeying the "new" MS standard of gaming. I was once an Xbox fan with the 360. But Sony stayed in touch with the "true gamer", with some sweet upgrades and adjustments. Good luck MS on trying to keep your "fan boys", your gonna need it. I will be boycotting Xbox and advocate gamer's not to fall victim under the new MS regime. PEACE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

Sony kept saying "TV for gamers" and "Netflix for gamers"  and "Redbox for gamers" and "Flixster for gamers".  It was hilarious and the fanboys just ate it up.

Sony spent a big chunk of E3 talking about TV.  Where are those Sony trolls who gave MS hell for talking TV at the hardware reveal?

PS Plus required for multiplayer.

@malokevi It's okay with most people because it doesn't look like they're trying to market the console on it's TV applications. As opposed to what MS did with Xbox One, where they spoke about TV for a good 30-40 minutes, during an hour long presentation. Just saying.....

@soulless4now it will be free to psn ++ users. u know if psn+ money isnt enough sony will just offer more free rentals and add another plus to the end and charge even more for it

@deathstream Wow, really? They almost never said that. It lasted exactly 15 minutes and the announcer evensaid "And now that that's finally out of the way, let's get back to the games".

@deathstreamStop acting like a fanboy, they barely talked about it. It was all about games.

Its amazing how they are still people defending MS after all of this.

@deathstream The parts where they spoke about TV and social media and things besides gaming were the worst part of the conference. But, with that said, the amount of time they spent talking about it's television capabilities was significantly lower than the amount of time MS spent doing so. You may say it doesn't matter, but it does. With the Xbox One, it looked more like MS was trying to sell the console on it's TV capabilities, whereas with the PS4, they tried to get it out of the way as fast as possible. I timed both events, and Sony spoke about that particular topic for approx 15 minutes max, give or take a few minutes. Compare that to the Xbox One reveal, where they spoke about TV for 35-40 minutes totally, and you'll see why people aren't giving Sony as much hell. Not to mention the fact that the amount of gameplay footage that was shown with regards to PS4 games was much more than the amount shown for Xbox One. I mean, they just did everything right that MS did wrong. They focused mainly on the games, while still trying to cover the social media and TV aspects. They brought out 7 exclusive IPs (I think it was 7, or was it less?), and out of all the games they showed, most of the footage was either in game gameplay, or it was a demo being played live.

Yes, aptly put.  Microsoft's been making some huge blunders lately.  I hope they keep losing marketshare until they learn that they serve their customers again, and that it's not the other way around.  Man I hope more people start using alternatives to Windows and MS Office.  Open standards really have to proliferate to break MS's monopolistic practices.

@BillJr106

I heard that too, although I was hoping I just misunderstood. :/

Not much of a detractor though as Xbox requires it too...still disappointing though, I never understood why they have to charge us to use our own internet connection. =.=

@BillJr106 required but you actually get games and content not just multiplayer. Plus the console is more powerfull and cheaper than the bone. WITHOUT the bullshit

malokevi
malokevi

@J-007 @malokevi Lol. So now that their TV is "specifically for gamers".... that makes it all good!

Because the rest of the high-quality programming on this planet is totally not for gamers. What we all want is more DEFIANCE!

....stupidest marketing spin I've ever heard.

bouff

@drsw36 @deathstream they are going to defend M$ more after this, just to make themselves believe that M$ is doing the right thing(s)

@obsequies @BillJr106

You get games with Gold, too.  More powerful is rumor.  Cheaper is true if  Sony wasn't hiding that the price they named was for a super-cheap SKU that no one will buy.  I said earlier that MS overpriced the XB1, but I am skeptical about the PS4 price, too- especially given the multi-SKU rumors from earlier.

malokevi
malokevi

@J-007 @malokevi They could have said...

"were crating origional TV programming... FOR LIZARDS!"

And the stupider more gullible lizards would go "oh, great! Specifically for lizards!"

Even though TV is TV, for people who watch TV... not games for gamers, not hot rocks for lizards... TV!

They could say "were gonna give you a kick in the balls... for GAMERS!" And you would probably go "well, its a good thing there considering gamers with this swift kick to the nuts. wayyyy different then Microsoft, whose kick to the nuts is totally for everyone but gamers.?" No way that a live-action Halo series produced by Stephen Speilberg even remotely takes GAMERS into consideration... right?

ahaha.

...reeeeeetarded. Relentless lack on logic. Just swallow the Sony pill without thinking twice. Seems to be the way things work around here.

J-007
J-007

@malokevi @J-007 They're focusing on gamers which is the main point and yes I agree there isn't generally good programming when it comes to games and the quality and feeling lack thereof. I think they're trying to improve on that and I think its worth a try, as long as it doesn't cost us

@deathstream With nothing more to say which can prove your point, you immediately accuse him of lying. Good job failing at argumenting.

@Sporks_Calamity @bouff
Uhh.. actually it does mean something.. While i agree in the end they both have similar feature, the fact that XBone cover it quite extensively, means that they're pretty focused about it & they think it's a necessity in the console.. While the PS4 intended it as only a trivial add-on & focused more on the gaming part..

Sporks_Calamity
Sporks_Calamity

@bouff Means very little. It doesn't matter whether if it was 15 mins or 55 minutes. Fact of the matter is; they are both did the same thing yap about TV. So deathstream has a valid point, what are the PS fan boys excuse or does blind hypocrisy rule?.

bouff

@deathstream @obsequies Sony game count = 33.... M$ game count = 21...... Sony talked about TV for about 15 mins.... M$ talked about TV for about 55 mins.....

@deathstream @obsequies @BillJr106  wow man your more hardcore than me. If sony would have thrown the shit out on the table that ms did..games and all I would have dumped them like a turd
