Sony Online Entertainment has announced a deal with AvantGo to provide its first online game for handheld computing devices. Jeopardy! 2001 Online is available for both Palm OS and Windows CE devices after you sign up for a free account at AvantGo.

Users will still be able to play Jeopardy! 2001 Online at The Station@sony.com, and handheld gamers will be able to download additional trivia questions from AvantGo. AvantGo already provides a program that lets users download the latest information from several news sites and then sync that data with their handheld device.

"We are delighted at the prospect of partnering with AvantGo to deliver compelling game content through an innovative distribution vehicle," stated Wendy Stahl, vice president of new business development for Sony Online Entertainment. "In addition to this opportunity, SOE is now exploring syndication and distribution opportunities for Wheel of Fortune Online and the online word puzzle game, Chain Letters."
