One of the major disappointments at Tokyo Game Show 2005 was the lack of playable games for the PlayStation 3. In fact, there weren't any playable PlayStation 3 games on the show floor last year--only on-stage demos of such titles as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
That won't be the case this year. Sony Computer Entertainment revealed that 27 PlayStation 3 titles will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show. This year's Electronic Entertainment Expo featured significantly fewer playable titles.
TGS, which will be open to the general public for part of its September 22 to 24 run, will let gamers sample a variety of next-generation titles, including high-profile E3 no-shows like Devil May Cry 4. A number of PlayStation Portable games, including several that support the system's upcoming global-positioning system add-on, will also be shown in playable form. Also, the Sony booth will feature a theater at which new video footage of an additional 35 titles will be shown. A preliminary list of titles to be shown follows below.

Wow cool games for the PSP, worth to buy :D!
What is this about .......Is it the games that we can play over WIFI with the PSP to PS3
They should have putten more playable titles
Great!
kewl
out of those games the only one that looks good is gran turismo and MAYBE ridge racer 7
I wish I could be there =(, atleast I'll hear Coverage =).
Killzone is coming, you wannabe gaming industry expert. The reason why they aren't showing it is because Guerilla is trying to sell Liberation for the PSP. Showing any footage from the PS3 version of the third game would ruin anybody's anticipation for the PSP release. So just chill out and keep it moving, fella.:\
And still no Killzone gameplay footage. This is my surprised face..... Guess Sony is still trying to dig their foot out of their mouth from when they tried to claim it was rendered in real-time on PS3-equivalent hardware.
great..BUT WHERE'S PRINCE OF PERSIA:RIVAL SWORDS ON THE PSP???
Ninja Gaiden Sigma will be awesome. I loved the XBOX "original"
Thats awesome
NINJA GAIDEN COMING TO THE PS3 :Ninja Gaiden Sigma Bound for PS3: Itagaki and Team Ninja bringing 'complete' Xbox game to PS3. by Luke Smith, 09/20/2006 41 of 41 users recommend this story. Ninja Gaiden. Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack. Ninja Gaiden Black. Now, Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Tomonobu Itagaki and Team Ninja will bring the excellent action title to Sony's PS3 according to reports in Famitsu. Ninja Gaiden Sigma will be a "complete" version of the Xbox game, Ninja Gaiden Black, boasting a bunch of extras. Players will now be able to play as Rachel and see the game unfold from her perspective, according to Famitsu. Is this the first sign that Ninja Gaiden 2 might be a multiplatform title, a timed exclusive or a platform-specific exclusive? If Ninja Gaiden 2 gets made (and we assume someday, it will) where will it show up?
I can't wait to see some in game footage of DMC4 and MG:PO
emptycow, FEAR is coming out for PS3 (CoD3 as well I believe). Please for godsake don't make yourself look like an idiot. Wait until the system is out for a while until you bash it. There are bound to be more 3rd party games announced. For example, White Knight Story should be awesome (RPG in a SotC type atmosphere). But, you probably don't even know about Level 5. All you know about are the "popular" games.
emptycow Your an idiot! There are plenty of games to get the PS3 for. ALL SYSTEMS HAVE EXCLUSIVE GAMES! You was like this earlier today. Is your goal in life to flame spray the PS3? Get a life!
This list has missing components in my opinion. MGS4 will have gameplay at TGS but it wont be playable, good enough for me since i'm not even there. 8)
Now I wonder if those games will be playing on ACTUAL hardware or devkits?
I want the Guns of the Patriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is qyuite an impressive list. Sony needs to start putting there product out on the street and get the buzz going. Having that nice list is agreat way to start. I can't wait till launch day.
I'm excited about a few of these games. The key word is a "few." Overall, I'm not too impressed. I'm not a fanboy of any particular system, I'll probably own all three. However, with a lineup like this, I will not be in line on launch day to plop down $600. I'll wait a while. Hopefully the number of quality games will increase and the hardware price will go down.
whoever said "its official killzone will look nothing like the cg video they showed off at E3" - Did you come up with this statement all by urself? impressive. The creators of killzone 2 have been quoted saying at 30 fps the game is playable and looks "as good" as the trailer they had shown before.
people, there's a thing known as "taking a chance" For instance I didn't think zone of the enders was gonna be fun but I took a chance on it and i liked it. As far as PS3 games I see Heavenly sword, Ressistance, Devil May Cry4, and Motorstorm to look foward to. For the psp MGS portable ops, and Ratchet and Clank Portable. This is more than I was looking foward to when the 360 lunched. As for the Wii, only mario galaxy and zelda interest me
Why is the MGS Digital Graphic Novel up there? Was it not released in Japan yet or something? And that's not fair! They have Portable Ops! I hope someone takes a video of them playing it and put it online ASAP. Also how is MGS4 not up there? That's the biggest game for the PS3 for now and they dont even have a little demo of it?
sooo that makes...what 2 ps3 games i care about? oh and 0 psp games. Why the hell did i buy a psp. Oh wait i can go online with my psp? wait...i can do that on the computer. umm...there are good games on the psp! no there aren't. wtf why did i buy this thing. Looking at this page there aren't even good psp games in development.
Barts_706 As for PS3 playables, I remain sceptical. Why are you sceptical? It's less than 2 months away, I sure hope, for their sake, that they are getting ready! Some games were playable at E3, so they need more at TGS.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... oh, and Assasin's Creed is no longer a ps3 exclusive, in your face. Seeya, gotta go play with my Wii...
Capcom is on a roll so Devil May Cry 4 should be good but the other games are kinda boring.
no killzone2 ??
Playable Lair eh...
two reason to get a PS3: 1st - Devil May Cry 4 2nd - Assasin's Creed (very interesting) could it be the replacement for POP?
awesome I cant wait to see.....
lol its official, Killzone 2(working title) will look no where near the CGI video
praise allah playable demozzzzzzzzz
R:FOM! I wanna see if it lives up to the hype.
Good Line-up
I want to see Assassin's Creed to be honest. I mean, yeah, those other games are cool and all that, but the one game I've been keeping up on that really just has me sold ont he system is Assassin's Creed. That game could be just the PoP fix I need. PoP... what a great series... nevermind the second one. Oh yeah... I'm curious about Killzone as well. If they have the game operational at at least 40FPS, and it looks like it did in that video... hell... I may turn over a new leaf and play consoles exclusively for the next couple of years. Right now, I'm a PC exclusive, but it has become increasingly appearant that the only games PV Devs want to make fromt his point on are RTSs - and FPSs that basically play exactly like every other FPS.
Hmm, I personally am a little curious how will Jean d'Arc do - it looks like something similar to Fire Emblem but with added PSP visuals/sounds it might turn out to be cool. As for PS3 playables, I remain sceptical.
My Response: Hmmm??? Im liking the variety on the list for PS3... I wonder how many titles are official for launch??? hmmm.......?
Sony lists only 19 PS3 games, but what about the other 8 games. Sony has mentioned that there will be suprises. They might show a playable Killzone demo. If they do and it looks exactly like the E32005 trailer, will the $600 price tag they're asking for be justified? Don't let my username fool you I game on Gamecube and Xbox.
omg i can't wait =O
all i want is ratchet and clank. come on sony quality not quantity!
why not ratchet and clank? or Rayman?
i only want to play devil may cry 4 nothing else is good
I see about 3 games that look interesting.
Umm... were was the good games? All i see is bad games.
i thought resident evil 5 will be there ...... :(
Umm i hope there good....
Halo? Huh, yeah, FPS, whatever... It put the XBox on the map in North America, maybe, but that's it. North-Americans really need to realize that the rest of the world couldn't care less about FPS. Killzone? care play on the PC... That's why the XBox didn't do well (and that's a euphemism) in those regions and why the 360 is doing much better in Europe: it has way more variety than its predecessor.
wow buncha great games but thought mgs4 would be on there oh well, plus dmc4 and resistence looks better. i might actually like resistence better than the sucky killzone. anyways sony right now is shaping up to be like microsoft wen its 360 first landed, too lil copies and hardware problems, trust me my 360 practially overheated within a 2 hour span and just burnt my cod2 u noe wen the laser starts puting this big circular scratch around the disc. the psp looks like its doing well. but probably the biggest thing right now is blu ray and hd dvd, when will the war end (or start) i just want to see which one succeeds, for the one that succeeds is probably also the winner of the console war too (bsides of wii i just think they are using regular discs)
