Sony announces Vita owners in the US and Europe will get three new games to play

Vita owners getting an action RPG, a JRPG, and a spruced up version of Soul Sacrifice, all from Sony's Japan studio.

Sony's Japan studio has announced it will be bringing three of its upcoming Vita titles to the US and Europe.

Freedom Wars, which was announced for Japan last year, is the first. It's an action RPG set in a penal colony in the far future, where people are sentenced to prison for one million years for the crime of living. Up to eight players can take part online, with support for four-player ad-hoc play.

It'll be coming to Vita in 2014, and a new trailer for the game was also released:

Next up is Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, a JRPG revolving around Japanese mythology, where players lead a clan seeking to lift a curse that's given its members a two year lifespan. The game sounds like it will span multiple generations, as you're charged with ensuring the clan's bloodline becomes more powerful with each new birth. There's no word of a release date.

Finally, Soul Sacrifice Delta--a spruced up version of last year's monster-hunting title. The Delta version will bring new Archfiends, sorcerers, arenas, spells, and quests. Sony says the graphics have been spruced up, and that save data from the original Soul Sacrifice will carry over.

Soul Sacrifice Delta is due for release on May 14.

Haven't bought a Vita yet... really don't want to purchase the Vita with a Borderlands 2. Just not interested at all with that game. Once the Vita Slim is no longer bundled I will purchase it with Soul Sacrifice on the double!

Freedom Wars looks fun. I'm considering buying the PS Vita slim even though I already have a Crystal White OLED Vita..but I can't come up with an excuse to do so.

I picked up PS Vita In Janurary and i had nothing but pleasure.  Not to mention the number of PS Vita for JRPGs released/announced for this year so far XD

SO FAR FROM DEAD.  >.> it like people just want to troll.  The games are awesome ;3 and not to mention games that come out on both 3DS and Vita always end up being better on VITA.

;p if ur a RPG hater than ya u wont like Vita.  >.> if u like japanese games than you love it.  Plus remote play on it for PS4 games is awesome. ;3

Hope they relese Labyrinth Cross Blood Infinity in the west, I'm interested in it despite it's stupid name. I'm a sucker for first person Dungeon Crawlers. Good thing Demon Gaze is released this month.

What about Sony's North American/European developers (Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Guerrilla, etc)?  EA? Activision? Take Two?  Ubisoft? Bethesda? Where are their Vita games??   It seems like Sony is perfectly content with the Vita being a Japanese RPG only system.

Oreshika and Soul Sacrifice seem interesting. I will probably pick up a Vita someday.

is freedom wars multiplayer only? and if not (lets hope), do you have com control companions like toukiden and gods eater or are you all alone like MH?

I'm dissatisfied with my product Sony. I don't want Japanese games. I live in America. Where is the first party support. We never got an infamous or god of war. I mean seriously. The only games I have is kill zone mercenary jak and daxter madden and street fighter X tekken.

I bet this will almost double the systems game library here in the US.

I see JRPG and Japan studio and I'm thankful I never purchased this system. It's too niche of a system for my taste.

Nice, but I bailed on this turd system last year.

And now Vita owners will need new memory cards 100 dollars for 32 gb card.  Wuuuutttt!?

@Ripper_TV Vita is  no where near dead, remote play on it's own is worth the price.

tom2750

@DrKill09  there is way more games coming out for the vita it already has hundreds of games on it and thats not including the PSP and PS1 titles you can also play on them i think the reason they are talking about 3 titles is because these games were originally were only going to be released in japan but they decided to release them in the US and Europe as well

@HackedLife  >  I agree.  I Would love to see EA, Bethesda, 2K (Rockstar) bring some games to it.  I want something like GTA, NBA, NHL, More Uncharted, Infamous, Syphon Filter, Max Payne, Elder Scrolls, Dead Space.  You get the idea.  Yes, Killzone Mercencary was awesome, but we need more like that.  These three games don't excite me.  And the great Japanese games like Resident Evil, Mega Man, Devil May Cry, Dead Rising, Okami, Monster Hunter, Sonic, and Yakuza are all missing from Vita.  Speaking of which ,also get Sega and Capcom to come back to Vita.  I rather have Yakuza than Hatsune Miku.

Lhomity

@HackedLife Guerilla did Killzone Mercenary, which came out last year. Santa Monica recently finished porting God of War HD 1 & 2 for Vita, and deployed a free update for PS All-Stars Battle Royale for PS3 and Vita.

And I don't know if you noticed, but Sony launched a new home console last November. That might be keeping some of their studios busy too.

@Triton Just before the PS4 came, turning this into the cheap publishing alternative that will allow more and more games to be released, just like happened with PSP when PS3 was released?

Bad move dude. Bad move...

@thegamer00 actually it's 100 dollars for 64 GB, still overpriced though.

@muco29 can you share what you do with it? mine have been sitting collecting dust since the 1st month after i bought it. a few ideas would be good...recent would be nice too. there were some games I had my eyes on but after going through player comments, screenshot and videos i've given up on all of them.

did i mention few are exclusives....

@tom2750 @DrKill09  Leave it to Gamespot to delete my comment for no reason.

I have a right to call the Vita dead.  It is.  I don't have anything against Sony, but I call a spade a spade.

Quit censoring me, Gamespot.  You guys are always stirring up the console wars.  People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

@Sevenizz  I actually am a PC gamer. My preference goes: 1st person games - PC, 3rd person games - consoles.

So my point stands valid and intelligent :)

shingui5

@Sevenizz

You know, you don't lose the games you delete. The licence for the games will always remain with your account and you can download them again at any time.

Sevenizz
Sevenizz

If you're such a graphics fan, why aren't you a PC gamer? They will always have the upper hand over consoles in that area.

Your point is hypocritical and stupid.

Sevenizz
Sevenizz

They don't. Do you actually read the Xbox threads you troll or go right to the comment section to start whatever dumb point you're poorly attempting to make?

Sevenizz
Sevenizz

Why would I accept deleting purchased games as a defense for Sony's dumb memory card policy? It's as if Sony modeled the Vita after the PS2. Technology is supposed to progress - not go back to the dark ages.

Lhomity
Lhomity

@Sevenizz The same thing you do with a hard drive in any PC or console. Delete stuff you're not playing to make room for others.

Most Vita games are pretty small downloads. Especially indies.
