Is this why sony told us to get PSN+

I'm pretty sure i typed au.gamespot.com into my browser! If this article is not for Australians and this kind of deal is not available to Australians either don't show it on this version of the site or more appropriately state somewhere in the article that this is currently only in the US. It's not that hard.

Yeah I've been waiting on L.A. Noire because I knew they'd bundle all its DLC.

When is this happening in Australia?

Would be nice to see something like this come to XBL.

Sounds like a good deal but I still prefer packaged videogames so I doubt I'll take much advantage of it.

These are good for their fans but still.... Meh.

@Vodoo chill out dude disc will be around for a while, even nxt gen consoles will have disc.  But why not go digital? that way if the disc is damaged you wont have to buy new one.  and if you buy it digitally you can just erase it when done playing it. and if you want to play it again it is there to redownload

This article would make you think it was only Rockstar/Take2 games were being bundled up for sale.

Wish Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was there tho, I rather that than Mortal Kombat

if it was capcom they would charge $90 bucks.........

Buying the complete edition in form of physical disc would be much wiser. You'll have these games store securely away from your hard drive (save hard disc space & peace of mind for corrupt files); besides, it's about the same price you you would pay as Playstation Plus members.

I back off from my previous comment. Only 2 or maybe 3 games I know have nice deals. RDR GOTY for 20-30 is a good deal, but didn't know the others had a different price because I only saw that one haha.

65 for black ops? seriously? with plus barely 49? it's a 2010. can't believe Activision wants to sell that game at that price.

And so it begins... Sony is priming us gamers for digital downloads by offering awesome deals at great prices for the digital version. Using these old games won't do much, but when they start offering new games for cheap with all the dlc, that's when it's over. They'll sucker us in slowly over time with great discounts and content, then when we're ok with digital and disks are gone for good, they jack up the cost all around. DON'T FALL FOR IT PEOPLE!!! Always get newer games on disc, even if it's a few dollars more. Those few extra dollars will keep them from exterminating our rights as a consumer.

great idea but i cant wait a year or so to get the full game wit all dlc at cheap price  and digital dwnload is way to go  FUK disc

I could have sworn that they have been doing this for quiet some time now?

I like the idea of content availability, in case I ever need it right there and then. However I do prefer to own the disk.

For people who don't have a fast broadband connection, downloading games can take up to a day. It would be faster and cheaper to go out to the store and buy a hard copy. Cant understand how digital games are more expensive, surely it should be the other way round?

ohjtbehaaave
ohjtbehaaave

These aren't bad but should still be cheaper than the disc version.  PSN has games on there for DL like AC:Revelations for $60 bucks and I got it recently for $19.99 at Best Buy on sale about a month or two ago.  Get real Sony.

When I saw the picture and read "Sony announces", I was hoping for : Sony announces Redemption for pc". Damn you, sony.

This is a great idea, but I still prefer discs for two reasons - 1. I like collecting them and 2. digital games eat waaay too much hard drive space.

I almost got a heart attack when I saw John Marston in the picture before reading the news. I thought that Rockstar FINALLY announced a RDR2!.

the digital price for these games should be less than the hard copy.

Lol I think this a pretty decent move by Sony but who doesn't own these games already!? They're essentials!..... If you don't I suggest you get on it!....... Right Now! ....... or when they make them available!

Yeah the hard drive space is of concern. Plus most of these are already available for equal or lesser value.

@RobDev True. I don't think it's available in canada either. USA always get special deals from M$ and sony.

shadowysea07
shadowysea07

@Ajheyhey  @Vodoo that's not feasible for a huge number of reasons. mainly due to always needing internet to buy and likely if you want to play these games. other reasons are if your system breaks there goes your save data and likely your games will have to be repurchased in the case of the wii. they take up too much space on the hard drive, cost more as there is no competitive pricing like in the real world, you can't redownload it if they stopped having it for download or stopped online service for the system.

Vodoo
Vodoo

@Ajheyhey  Ignorance is bliss huh Ajheyhey? Digital download is NOT the way to go! You think dlc is getting out of control now? All digital will give the publishers more reason to charge for things that should've been included. And what choice will you have? Wait till there's no more used game sales and they can charge whatever they want. New games $75/Old games $50. Just because you don't want to get your f@t, lazy a$$ to the store to buy a game doesn't mean the rest of us want to lose the last remaining bargaining chip we have, the last semblence of control in the consumers favor.

Salehjamal

@FiddleJohnny One could only dream! But there could be no new John Marston! That game was something else. I would love another RDR but I just cannot imagine how it would work without John Marston.

RobDev

@jcopp72 I've just l;ooked on line at JB - the cheapest by far and the RDR ultimate (GOTY) edition is around $45 - $50. So i can get it for $20. Not sure what the price issue is?

blackwingzero

 @Setsuka13

So you the hardrive space is a concern? You do know that you can upgrade your PS3's hard drive with a standard issue laptop one and a USB flash drive right?

ZOD777
ZOD777

@masterdrat Yeah, it was somewhat of a tease because I want RDR on PC so badly, but when I read the title one more time and saw SONY, I knew my dreams were shattered.

 @blackwingzero

But not everyone wants to spend another $200-$300 on a new hard drive.  My original 60GB ran out a few years back and since I'm a huge gaming nerd, I dished out the money for a 500GB.  Not many people are willing to do that though....

quaggabones

@Fenixx i upgraded my 40gb hdd to 320gb back in 2008 and only cost about $90 then.

@Fenixx If you're spending $200-$300 on an HDD then you are doing something wrong.
