Soldiers: Heroes of World War II promoted with update
Real-time strategy game sends reinforcements in the way of new multiplayer modes, maps, and more.
Codemasters' Soldiers: Heroes of World War II is getting some more firepower, as the company has released a new downloadable update for the game. The update requires the full version of Soldiers: Heroes of World War II but is free of charge.
Available on GameSpot DLX, the 164.4MB download adds assault, battle zones, and escort to the previously available multiplayer modes of deathmatch and king of the hill. Assault challenges one team to breach another teams defenses; battle zones has players controlling flags a la domination; and escort pits one team, armed only with infantry units, against another team that's escorting a convoy of trucks from one side of the map to the other.
The download also includes 12 new multiplayer maps (Depot, Forest, Hunting, Island, Monastery, Port, Radar, Station, Sawmill, Suburb, Trench, and Village) and new units for Russian, Allied, and German armies, including the Crusader British tank, the M36 Slugger, the Russian T34 Mine Clearer, and the German Panzerwerfer 42. To download the update and see all its features, check out Soldiers: Heroes of World War II on GameSpot DLX.
