Activision has announced that it will release a new patch for Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, its gory first-person shooter, sometime next week. The patch will add a number of new features to the game, including a new demolition game type, a new MP5SD weapon, and four new maps. We've posted some screenshots in the gallery to the right that show off some of the environments featured in the new maps.

Soldier of Fortune II was developed by Raven Software and released last month. The new game again lets players assume the role of John Mullins, a military consultant working for a top-secret agency on a variety of dangerous missions.
