Smite Patch Adds Clash Mode Permanently, Reworks a Recent Character

And Ne Zha gets a makeover.

Ahead of its official release, Hi-Rez Studios has outlined the latest patch for Smite. Alongside turning Clash into a permanent mode, it makes some pretty significant changes to Ravana.

Ravana gets a new passive which grants him a shield (equal to six percent of his max health) each time his combo chain reaches eight. The combo is increased by landing either basic attacks or abilities, and the shield can stack up to three times. His Prana Onslaught ability gets buffed across the board: its damage, range, and slow effect have all been increased. 10-Hand Shadow Fist now heals for every target it hits, and his Ultimate, Mystic Rush, now does significantly more damage and doesn't require a lock-on to use (but it can now miss).

It remains to be seen how much more effective Ravana will now be. As a result of undergoing such deep changes, Ravana will be auto-banned in Ranked League for the time being.

The other major change in this patch, dubbed The Reborn Prince, is the removal of the beta tag from the new Clash mode. While Hi-Rez plans to continue tweaking the mode and its map, this is now permanently available in-game. It was first added in November and was intended to only be available for a limited time while Hi-Rez continued to work on it.

As for the name of the update, it refers to Ne Zha being remodeled. Several of his skins have gotten a new look, including the Blue Lotus and mastery ones.

Alongside this, several new skins have been added, including the particularly excellent Siege Engine one for Xing Tian. You can see these in the gallery above.

There are some other minor changes and bug fixes included in this patch, as well as new achievements. You can see all of this in the patch notes on Smite's website, or wait until the update is released on live servers on December 15.
