Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2 E3 2004 Preshow Impressions

At a recent Namco press event, we caught a new trailer for the company's upcoming tennis sequel, Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2. According to the trailer, that mouthful of a title will carry with it a full 16 pro players, including Serena Williams, Jennifer Capriati, Thomas Haas, Richard Gasquet, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick, and Anna Kournikova. The trailer also made mention that you can play on all four tournament regulation court surfaces.

We saw a few quick glimpses of the character creation process, which will let you make a player from scratch and guide him or her up through the tournament ranks. The trailer showed images of the gameplay very briefly, and from what we could tell, Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2 is looking like one of the better tennis games out there. The pro character models in particular were noteworthy as they were realistically rendered.

Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2 is due out on shelves in early June. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
