Slender: The Arrival coming to consoles, Double Dragon: Neon coming to Steam

Slender: The Arrival will hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 during Q1 2014, and Double Dragon Neon will release on Steam "soon."

Midnight City, Majesco's indie games publishing subsidiary, has announced that horror game Slender: The Arrival, previously available only on PC, is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 via Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in the first quarter of 2014.

It also announced that the remake of the classic beat'em up Double Dragon: Neon, previously available only on consoles, will be released on Steam soon. The colorful driving and flying racer Krautscape, which up until now was up on Steam Greenlight, will also release on Steam during Q1 2014, Midnight City said.

The console version of Slender: The Arrival will add two new flashback levels that will unlock after completing the game. The PC version of Double Dragon: Neon will add an online cooperative mode.

Midnight City didn't announce specific release dates, but said that each game will cost $10.

In the mean time, you can read our reviews of Double Dragon: Neon for consoles, and Slender: The Arrival's PC version.

Time to give him $20 so he can stay away.

DD Neon was pretty fun; Ill pick it up again on Steam just so I don't have to hook the 360 up again.

Cool. To celebrate after Slender comes out on consoles, make Jess play it again :P

Go to youtube, watch the credits for double dragon....  Congratulations, you have now seen the best part of the game(I don't even mean that in a snide way, the credits are really good).

Game is very average.

Awww, how nice! Steam gets a console game and the consoles gets a PC game. It's like Steam trading, lol.

wish they would stop fucking around with these indie developers and have a real studio do a AAA Double Dragon game.

Double Dragon Neon has a great goofy 80's soundtrack. But the game is mediocre.

Double dragon neon was a damn good game.  Glad PS+ gave it to me for free.  Being an 80's kid, I love side scrolling beat 'em ups.  Soooo much fun.

@pelvist Slender: The arrival actually executes its goal really well. Never got to finish that game.

@lorider25I can see your point but indie developers aren't necessarily bad ones. The indie explosion is happening because so many big developers have gone under the past two years.  I blame the companies that pressure the developers for that.  If you force something to come out to meet a strict deadline, it doesn't usually end well (especially in the video game industry...Sonic 06 anyone?).  Indie developers can finally breath some fresh new ideas into the mix.  I suppose though that indie developers can be mistreated like any other company, so the end result could be a bad game.  I don't think it would be a problem with a title like double dragon though, because It's just a short side scrolling game.  Not nearly as complicated to program for than say, a first person shooter.

@lorider25

There's no guarantee that it would turn out to be something you like, you may want to know. It may well be a reboot/remake that carries none of the spirit of the original.

@blackace Funny coincidence, cause these games don't really care you.  Difference is, they don't go to news articles about you and post pointless comments.  Probably because people don't want to read articles about chubos who never leave their basement.

@tinyname I want an hd version of the aliens vs predator sidescoller. I poured so many quarters into that game.

@Gelugon_baat@lorider25

Actually, he has a great point.

Indie developers are amateurs, the studio who made that Double Dragon is from Korea, do you want to play a korean game? Me neither!

They should hire professionals.

@Diegoctba

"Great point" only because you are of the same opinion against indie game makers.

Also, that studio, WayForward, is not based in Korea - it is based in the USA, specifically in California.

How ignorant can you be?
