Skyrim meets Minecraft on Xbox 360

The upcoming DLC package will add a playable Elder Scrolls world to Minecraft: Xbox 360 edition.

Following in the example set by the Mass Effect Mash-up released in September, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is getting an Elder Scrolls V: Skryim expansion.

According to the official Bethesda blog, the add-on will be priced at $3.99 (£2.69/€3.79) and includes: "a Skyrim-themed texture set, 40 character skins, themed menus and user interface, craftable items, and more than 20 iconic selections from the original Skyrim soundtrack."

The DLC is wholly cosmetic, meaning this will not affect the normal Minecraft gameplay. No release date has been announced, but Microsoft says the add-on is "coming soon." And attendees at MineCon 2013 will be able to try out the game firsthand this weekend.

Someday, I'm going to try Minecraft and by someday I mean never.

4 dollars for a basic mod? I've seen users create far bigger and better mods for free.

sorry bastards have to pay 4$ for a minor mod, I trully pity these console people getting the inferior version of the game.

I'll download the trial and decide from there.

At least the AI in the minecraft version of Skyrim look more realistic.

The Notched pickaxe comes in handy now.

Awesome! I'm glad to see Notch is embracing the mods. Though combining two of the most addicting games may work out well for him in the long run.

Ahhh. Its so great to see that Notch has become what he hated the most.

Let's see, I didn't like Skyrim (probably because I had the PS3 version at launch), and I don't like Minecraft. Pass.

Why would anyone want to make Minecraft as boring as Skyrim?

Just looks like Minecraft to me. Even got the same old boring ass wooden houses in it. The houses which end up being your house because the grand fortress you planned on making takes too long and is tedious to find all of the materials to make and normally ends up looking like shit because none of us are architects and then we just give up and start a new world?

Might as well just play Skyrim if you wanna play Skyrim.

When's Minecraft going away? Very bored of it now.

Well seeing has how this has nothing to do with the PC I will not make a stupid comment about the PC version because I am not stupid. This does look pretty interesting for the console gamers that want something new.

Also you can blame MS for the fact that it is not free. They do not allow a lot of free content to be released.

At least were not bitching about it, an at least were having fun, dumb ass

@bigoth866 Well of course he'll embrace them for 360 owners. 360s don't get mods and custom packs like the PC version does for free.

This way he can toss on a price tag!

@Mandrew257 I played Skyrim on PC and didn't like it. The leep from Oblivion was minute. The AI is terrible and boring, like androids. Skyrim was a let down.

I loved Oblivion, for itt's time it was a truly great experience but nor Skyrim.

@Mandrew257 Thats why you never play an elder scrolls game on a console...it will always be best on PC.

@darkrayne I'm so sorry you are bored with it, but why don't you play a game that doesn't bore you instead of wanting a game that many other people love to go away.

@Saidrex Why do I need luck to pay for mods? In what way is luck involved?

@WingChopMasta Never mind the two free games a month that you actually get to keep when your live subscription expires.

@Hurvl @darkrayne Who said he was playing a game, that he was bored of? He's bored of hearing about it. He never said he played it.

vduong942

@blobby-blobby @pelvist he's talking about the packs. someone can easily make a Mass Effect 3 or a Skyrim texture pack on PC for free. there's even a skyrim mod.

pelvist

@frylock1987 @vduong942 Mojang owns Minecraft, not Notch, he created the game but now the game belongs to the company as a whole. The decision to milk XBOX gamers with what is free on PC is not his.

Hurvl

@Faye_Tallity @Hurvl @darkrayne "Very bored of it now" can be interpreted in several ways and my assumption is as probable as yours. He's free to speak his mind, but asking a question like that is comically egocentric: I don't like this, when is it going away? It doesn't matter how many other people like it, I want it to go away.
