At the end of last week, karaoke fans were popping the champagne and warbling into their hairbrushes to celebrate the official dating of the PlayStation 3 version of SingStar.

Now it has been revealed on Sony's "semi-official" European blog ThreeSpeech that the online SingStore will also launch on the same day--December 7. Of the 44 songs that will be available on launch day, some will be SingStar PlayStation 2 tracks and some will be brand new. Tracks will cost from 99p ($2) each, the same price as a single from iTunes.

New tunes are coming from artists including the Manic Street Preachers, Zutons, and Depeche Mode, and previously available songs include offerings from Gwen Stefani, OutKast, Coldplay, Pussycat Dolls, and Razorlight. Further songs will be added from December 17, with the goal being to have 350 songs in the store in the next few months.

The boxed copy of SingStar will be £24.99 ($51) or £49.99 ($102) bundled with two microphones. A North American release date or pricing information has not yet been revealed.
