SingStar: The Wiggles slated for release in May

Australia's most famous children's group and the drivers of the Big Red Car get their own karaoke game; Sony says 3 million SingStar games sold in Australia/NZ.

Australia's toddler-focused super group--The Wiggles--is set to annoy parents in an entirely new way, signing up with Sony Computer Entertainment to bring its music to the publisher’s popular SingStar franchise for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2.

Sony confirmed via press release that the PS2 version will feature 20 songs and will launch in May. Details on the PS3 version were not disclosed.

The PS2 version will have the following songs:

"Hot Potato" "Can You (Point Your Fingers and Do the Twist?)"
"Fruit Salad"
"Rock-a-Bye Your Bear"
"Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga, Big Red Car"
"Wake Up Jeff!"
"Captain Feathersword Fell Asleep on His Pirate Ship (Quack Quack)"
"The Monkey Dance"
"Get Ready to Wiggle"
"Move Your Arms Like Henry"
"Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles!"
"Play Your Guitar With Murray"
"Getting Strong!"
"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
"I'm Dorothy the Dinosaur"
"Dr Knickerbocker"
"The Shimmie Shake!"
"Wags the Dog Is Chasing His Tail"
"Hot Poppin' Popcorn"

Sony Computer Entertainment Australia also gave an update in the same press release on sales stats for its popular karaoke franchise. Across Australia and New Zealand, SingStar games have sold over 3 million discs, with more than 1 million microphones finding their way into homes. The SingStore has also enjoyed similar success, with more than 500,000 tracks being downloaded from the virtual storefont.

I want WipEout! Not this nonsense. =( On 360 or PC would be great... but not going to happen, so even a new PS3 version would be wonderful though I don't have a PS3. The only reason I'm tempted to get one is for the WipEout series. Nothing else. In fact, the only reason I got a PSP was for WipEout. 3/4 years later and WipEout pure and pulse are the only games I've bought for it (I've gotten a fair number of games from friends like Japanese Dissidia, but I haven't made any other purchases).

@ robertwarnes91: Y should the PS2 die? Sure it doesnt have the graphics of the PS3 or 360 but graphics aint everything and PS2 has had a LOT of good games that are still good to this day. But I know what u mean though since they dont really make any more high quality games for PS2. Just little mulitplatform games that dont even get the full treatment on PS2.

PS2 port? Man just die Playstation 2, just die already!

I would think that this will be a hard sell because of such a limited audience. I have a 1-year-old and a 5-year-old. The former is too young and the later is too old. Good luck anyway.

I can see a few drunk games coming out of this.
